Right when we were getting all comfy and cosy with SPAM on VoIP, aka SPIT, well here comes Skam. James Enck calls Skam = Skype spam. A lot of folks are saying that they get some strange messages from absolute strangers. James apparently had tons of messages from a Skype conference call (also known as Skype group chat) with about 46 people.
How about a Skambot, which indexes Skype users from the directory, enabling Skammers to set up unsolicited super-sized group chats like the benevolent one I experienced - but with the message being Latvian tax strategies, or worse. What defense do users dragged into this sort of thing have? How about unsolicited file transfers of advertising, porn clips, or worse?
