Dan Gillmor starts a new venture

Dan Gillmor is leaving the cushy confines of San Jose Mercury News and jumping into start-up waters, hoping to work on a “citizen media” company. He seems to have raised a few million dollars for this project. Some think he is the first journalist to do so - actually it was Tom Foremski who left Financial Times to start Silicon Valley Watcher.
